James Lewis, M.A.
Former CFRE®
Nonprofit Management and Consulting involving: Interim Executive Management | Organizational Assessment | Fundraising | Strategic Planning | Facilities Review | Compliance | Permitting | Liability | Media and Community Relations
With diverse experiences spanning continents and sectors, I've spent decades navigating the intersections of community, business, and ministry. From my formative years in Okinawa, serving in ministries that developed into executive leadership roles in nonprofit ministries as well as serving as a Communications Director in the Philippines, I've cultivated a profound understanding of cross-cultural dynamics and the importance of sustainable community development.
My journey has been anything but conventional, seamlessly blending roles in corporate, nonprofit, and entrepreneurial ventures. As a lifelong learner, I've pursued continuous education, earning accolades such as the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation and certification as a Credentialed Christian Nonprofit Leader. Alongside these achievements, I've contributed to academic discourse through authored journal articles and columns.
Formally ordained as a Chaplain, I furthered my education with studies in Nonprofit Organization Management at UC Riverside and an M.A. in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary. My passion for mentorship and knowledge-sharing drives my "fourth quarter" goal of empowering the next generation of leaders, whether through classroom teaching or online platforms.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I've cherished 46 years of partnership with my spouse, Leslie, herself a retired educator with a passion for shaping young minds. Together, we've raised four children and take pride in their diverse accomplishments.
